i bought a 97 prelude and i was wonder if a f20b would bolt up to a h series tranny and what else i would need to do

Im sure its a direct swap as long as its the same obd... and if its not the samr obd just swap the parts from the h in the lude

yes it does bolt up, I actually have one in my 99 Prelude. there is some wiring that has to be done unless you swap the distributor & oil pump from your h22a4 with the sensors as well... if you need help with this Pm me...

there is a noise from the motor and it sounds like a valve or something along those lines so im going to adjust the valves and do an oil change to see if that helps but if not i want to throw an f20b in its place so i wanted to know if t need a tranny and what else i would need to do the swap

if you have a base model prelude (Non Type-SH), the tranny will bolt up to the f20b, you will also have to swap over the intake manifold, oil pump (with sensors), & distributor from your h22, this way you wont have to do any custom wiring.

so the f20b will not fit to a sh tranny

Yeah thats not goin to work cause the sh blocks don't have anywhere for the atts unit to bolt to.The attts unit takes the place of the half shaft and distributes power to the outside wheel during cornering thus reducing understeer and mimicking the handling of rwd car

so pretty much you either have to get another SH longblock or a h22 or f20 full swap, which you can use either a prelude or accord tranny on it
