has anyone done this swap in a lude before?? it has no knock sensor when my h23a1 does. my question is can i just put the knock sensor from the old block on the new one?? or should i just buy the a3 ecu?? and would it pass emissions with that ecu??

im pretty sure you can just swap it over.. any p14 ecu should work also

just did a little research, according to some websites, use your usdm p14 ecu and transfer over the knock sensor. also, some people said that you have to use the h23a1 distributor too. gl with your swap.Comment

and as long as your egr system and other emission's systems are working and theres no CEL codes then you should be ok with the emissions.Comment

found some info about it... the engine came out of a rover 600 series in euroupe..
