iv seen a couple people leave off the balance shaft belt when doing a t-belt and say the motor revvs up and down quicker as a result...is there any truth to that?i hate that it takes 3 weeks for my rpms to drop from a high pull

LOL...i wouldnt do it unless you buy the balance shaft eliminator kit...http://www.kstuned.com/
theres knock off kits as well, im thinking of buying one for my h22 for 40$ vs the 150$

It will lessen the amount of rotating mass, however it isn't very safe without getting the elimination kit.

YES you can leave the belt off you'll gain about 6 to 9 hp and it will start leaking out the seals so just buy the kazain speed eliminator kit and call it a day. Its worth it because oil pressure will increase in the motor and ull gain some hp out of it plus it will shed about 10lbs off the motor. I did it to my last motor and works GREAT!!!

what is the point of the balance shaft any way? if there is an eliminator kit for it and it adds hps, why did honda pit it there in the first place?

to elminate vibration from the big ass 2.2l motor. Yes the kit adds hp and adds oil pressure to your engine also removes about 10 pounds from the engine. For 120bucks its deffenently worth it.

I did it with no problem...the elimator kit does the same thing as removing the belt for balance shafts...

Yea but if you only remove the belt, you will eventually lose oil pressure and could cause some problems down the road. With the kits you get seals and a spacer so that you can maintain a higher level of oil pressure

damn good thing you just mentioned that about the oil pressure, i took my belt off a week ago for some extra hp. i can say i really DONT notice any difference in vibration within the car but i feel a very very slight performance increase on the top end, but now that theres a chance of it messing with the oil pressure i would highly suggest getting the eliminator kit like i am about to do
