If the car is in your garage you could justify it as self defense and there is a chance that with a good lawyer they could argue in your favor but you'd need a really good lawyer to get you off the hook if the car was just in your driveway and you left the house to see what they were doing, unless of course they raised their hands at you and in the dark it looked like they were pointing a gun at you in which case you could make a case that you thought they had a weapon and were going to try to hurt you and so you fired at them in self defense to protect yourself and your family because it looked like they might shoot you or rob you.

the car could be in ur bedroom gettin stolen, it dont matter.lol.u cant shoot sum1 unless there trying to cause harm to you or ur family..and that too dark to see thing might hold up..but ur still guilty until proven innocent
