  • Need help/advice/possibly parting or junking car

Hello everyone I believe this is my first post(although i know this forum isn't as active as it used to be) i like hondas/acuras/cars in general but unfortunately i purchased a mistake, i am inexperienced with the mechanics of cars. I bought this 94 integra for 2500. It is in rough shape but was running and driving well when i first bought it besides wheels rubbing. It has a b20b with supposedly 40k and a rebuilt transmission + stage 2 clutch. Lowered with other suspension upgrades. First problem is i took it in for emissions and it failed. Previous "owner" said it needs a stock ecu and o2 sensor. So i did some research bought a p75 ecu and currently awaiting the o2 sensor. I put the p75 ecu in and it began to run very poorly.( Do you have to tune any ecu even stock?) I put the other one back in and its running again. It also needs other parts... tie rods, brake caliper, alot of wires disconnected under hood...

Now the real problem that i discovered today is the Title for the car has the wrong VIN so i guess i was basically robbed. Is it even possible to get a title for the car in my name or what? I bought this car literally 10 or 11 days ago. The whole thing was a completely shady deal i did all the paper work myself and i knew something was wrong. I was very dumb. I needed a car, i liked how it looked and drove(even though tires rub badly) and didn't bother checking vin... So now i don't know what to do. I don't even have the guys name who sold me it, and i don't know if i technically even own it. I am pretty pissed but know this is a valuable lesson. What would you do? If anyone would want to buy it and part it out or something i may be willing to do that.

do you still have the guys number did he not sign the title or? couple basics your leaving out but if you still have the guys number the only thing you can do next is go to the cops or part out you cant junk it if vins dont match the title unless you cut the car and scrap it in pieces

Agreed with you Inline4. If you have his number then you have to complain for it.

Yea the guy didn't sign any of the paperwork i did it myself..i know it was all a mistake. The title was in someone elses name from another city as if he was selling it for them. Although as i mentioned the title is incorrect. I'm thinking of selling it to the highest bidder to part out if i can't get in touch with him again. I already told him i wanted to sell it back but he wouldn't respond so not many options left...i don't really want to involve the police and start a big issue as much as it sucks. I'll take the loss and the lesson and hopefully someone else can benefit and make some money...

your best bet is to start a part out cause no one will pay much for a car without a title for all you know car could be stolen honestly

I wouldnt deal with that. Part it out and trash the shell, not worth keeping that and getting in trouble.

Take the loss and keep it moving

Good to see the Honda game hasn't changed much
Now if I were you, and inexperienced with mechanics, you could! part it out but then your STILL shit outta luck on some wheels. Or You buy a bullshit shell from someone A little less shady swap shit over and your back to broke but you have some wheels and a little more knowledge. Either or this will not be the last time you get burned.
