It seems to me the street racing aspect keeps the more legitimate members away, and the street racing members are all about secrecy.
Either way, it's a recipe for no one posting build threads or anything that could be considered a technical post.
I'd suggest the site try to organize a "CTVTEC autocross day" or something like that. Civics and Integras are seriously some of the best autocross cars that money can buy.
I have a 2011 WRX autocross car that won a ProSolo National Championship, a 1996 E36 that I'm trying to get together for this year (the shocks on it are worth more than my Civic), and have owned countless other autocross cars on several different platforms, but none give me the thrill or the adrenaline rush that my EG does.
Seriously a blast to drive at the limit. Even if you drive like an asshole on the street, you can't drive like this. You'd pop a curb and be calling a tow truck within a few minutes.
There are like 25 Sundays in CT that you can go autocrossing for $30, and you will get 50 times the seat time that you would get doing a couple pulls at a drag strip that's 200 miles away.
I'm not knocking drag racing, but these cars are much more suited to other forms of motorsports, and drag racing legally doesn't exist in CT. If you want to drag race, it's a big commitment of time and money for little payoff.
This site seems to revolve around drag racing, and it doesn't seem to be working. Change the direction and the membership will follow.
Grassroots motorsports are alive and well in CT, and you can have an absolute blast in an old Honda.
Just my .02

We all know these cars are targeted by thieves.
I'd say that unless you kept it in a locked garage, never parked it anywhere public, and had several theft deterrents on it, then you should be accepting of the fact that it's quite likely that it might get stolen.
Owning an older Honda is not like owning most other cars. Using it in a way in which you would use a normal car is not advisable.
Hey, these cars aren't for everybody.Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.

It was a pretty much stock em1 no garage in my hood. But on the flip side I had full coverage on the car and gieco has enough money to investigate a theft. The car ended up in new Britain I have a pretty good idea of who stole it so it's not all bad I suppose. I just really feel for someone who doesn't have the money to replace a stolen car. I had money in the bank, full coverage and my girls car to drive and it was still a pain in the ass. I bought the car before we moved up towards Hartford.Honda sucks. Over priced junk.
