  • Help!!! After thermostat change

Wats up guys I changed my thermostat because my car was not heating up all the way...
After changing it, I burped the radiator, ran the car with the cap off until no more bubbles,
    Then put cap on
There is steam coming from under that radiator cap, smoking from exhuast(whiteish)
And the car is reving higher than normal, when I hit the gas, after releasing it the Rpms drop quick and go back up to almost 2k which is above normal
Also the car is at same running temp as before thermostat change
Any help what this can be??? Please??!? I'm stuck
    Thanks guys

sounds like the thermostat hasn't opened to let the coolant in.... does you fan kick on? does the lower radiator hose get hot after it reaches operating temp?

But the question I have is if it's bad would it warm up at all or overheat? It's almost the operating temp, and the rpms are acting funny, almost as the sensor does when the car over heats

You need to bleed the coolant properly. Leave the rad cap on while the car warms up let it reach operating temp and let the thermostat open (lower rad hose should get warm) at that point fan should kick on. Remove cap and fill
