  • Would you trade?

I'm in a situation with a kid who knows nothing about cars and I want to see what your opinion is. I offered my 2007 FA5 as an even trade for a 2003 DC5 with 124k miles, exhaust and intake only (he has my old DC5 the same way I sold it).

Check our ads and tell me whether you would have done an even trade if you were the DC5 owner?

    FA5: 180k miles
    My mods / maintenance
    Comtech short shifter
FD2 type-r shift knob with red stitched EDM shift boot
    Has 17x8 +48 rota torques
    HFP front lip
    Vibrant exhaust Ver. 2
    OEM Mugen rear spoiler
    30% Tint
    5k 55w HID's (High and Low)
    3k 55w HID's in the fogs too
    Progress rear sway bar
    Skunk 2 lowering springs
    Throttle Body Spacer P2P
    Intake Manifold Spacer
    (4) 15mm itchiba wheel spacers ver. 2
Purple extended open end black racing lug nuts
Compustar Remote Start / Alarm with LED Controller

All done at 170,000 miles at the KJ Built Shop:

    New timing chain
    Chain tensioner
    VTC actuator
    Seals
    O-rings
    Filters
    Gaskets
    Spark plugs
    Valve adjustment
    Lower chain guard
    Front struts
    Mounts
    Bearings
    Bump stops
    Isolators
    Pinch mounts
K&N typhoon intake along with everything being cleaned up from a pitch black grime coat.

    Done at 177k:
    Serpentine idler bearing
    Pulley
    Pedestal
    Black EBC Rotors
    Hawk HPS Brake Pads
    New OEM rear calipers

    DC5: 124k miles
Mods = K&N Intake and an N1 Racing Catback exhaust.

Was he smart? Or a fool?

Sure you have all that work done but to someone who doesn't know about cars like you say it means nothing they just see a car with almost 200 k on it
I know your car is fast, you were hauling ass when I passed you

I feel kind of bad that he doesn't know anything about cars. I didn't want my car to end up with a know nothing. I offered him 8k for it this morning and I'm just waiting on his response. He paid $7500 for it so I made it a better deal.

Basically lol. I'm unhappy with my FA5 and every other car I've owned. None compare to that DC5 which was the first I ever bought on my own.
