  • Colon's Wheel Polish

Had these wheels sitting for a while. After reading a bump of thread for polishing, I'd thought I give it a shot since I have tons of sandpaper stored from other projects. I will be updating as I can. Finding time is hard when you have kids and school, so when you are in the game, "YOU MAKE TIME!" I had alot of ideas for the inner parts, like powdercoating the inners chrome or gloss black, but undecided or just leave it with the grey
    12/1/2012.
    Here they are.

Sanded with 60 grit then 100 grit followed by 150 grit.

    Todays end results

taking my time with this, a few days ago I sanded at 220 grit, then
wet-sanded with 320grit followed by 400 grit, huge difference from previous pics

    500, 600, 800 grit.home stretch!

    1/3/2013
i had it sitting for a while but did the 1000, 1200, 2000 grit
followed by turtle wax rubbing compound, followed by mothers mag polish followed by blue magic, lmk what you think. all done by hand

finished the last rim today, took me like a month but worth the time and effort. now i have to mount tires and put them on to see how they look

you should use a da sander,on flat faces on the curves and contours you need to do it by hand, ive sanded tow truck wheel's,wiper arms, valve covers, control arms, exhaust just about every thing of metal/alumium :D

go with 60-120-150-220-320-400-600-800-1000-1500-2000-3000- then use heavy cut compound with a buffer then use blue magic polish and its gonna be a mirror finish, dont try and clear the wheels the clear wont stick
