(WTNH) -- The following is a town-by-town list of emergency information and prep for Sandy. The list will be continuously updated. Cities and Towns with voluntary or mandatory evacuations are listed first.
BRANFORD -- Mandatory evacuations are ordered for all coastal areas, areas along the Branford River, and anywhere where home owners experienced flooding during Hurricane Irene as well as all off shore islands no later than 8 p.m. Sunday evening. The town's Evacuation and Sheltering Guide is available by going online at http://www.branford-ct.gov . In addition, residents can go to the Branford Police Department's website and follow the B-informed link.
BRIDGEPORT -- Mayor Bill Finch orders "Mandatory Evacuation for all residents living in low-lying areas as of 12 noon, Sunday, October 28." Three schools -- Jettie Tisdale, 275 Hollister Avenue; Geraldine Johnson, 427 Lexington Avenue, and Cesar Batalla, 606 Howard Avenue -- will be open as shelters.

UNIVERSITY OF BRIDGEPORT -- Due to the impending storm, there will be a mandatory evacuation of the University of Bridgeport campus Sunday at 4 p.m. All residents of North/South Hall will meet at 4 p.m at the corner of Broad and University Avenues to travel by bus to the shelter at Cesar Batalla Elementary School in Bridgeport. Residents of all other halls, as well as students who live off-campus in the immediate vicinity, will meet at 4 p.m. in front of Marina Dining Hall to travel to shelter at Sacred Heart University.
EAST HAVEN -- Mandatory evacuations for anyone living within two blocks of the shore beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday, to be completed by 6 p.m. Also, if you live near a flood prone area, the Mayor asks you to consider voluntarily evacuating your home to a safer location. East Haven High School will be open as a shelter.
FAIRFIELD -- From First Selectman Michael Tetreau; "For residents of the beach area, we are asking for a voluntary evacuation starting Sunday morning with mandatory evacuation beginning Sunday at noon." Shelter opens at Ludlowe High School at noon.
GROTON -- The Groton Town Police and the Groton Town Department of Emergency Management are announcing mandatory evacuations in the low lying areas of town, as of 7 p.m. Sunday. The Town of Groton is opening an emergency shelter at Fitch Senior High at 4 p.m., for people who do not have an alternative place to go.
GUILFORD -- Town of Guilford has ordered a mandatory evacuation for areas south of the railroad tracks and areas prone to coastal flooding as of 2 p.m. Sunday. At 2 p.m. the community shelter on Church Street will open.
NEW HAVEN -- Mayor John DeStefano Jr. has announced a state of emergency and ordered an evacuation of flood-prone regions beginning 8:30 a.m. Monday in advance of Storm Sandy. The evacuation order will remain in place until the noon high tide on Tuesday. The Fire Department, Police Department and Livable City Initiative will visit homes Sunday in the evacuation areas to inform residents of the order. Career High School will serve as an emergency shelter. Benjamin Jepson School will be opened as an area of refuge. Both will open at 8:30 a.m. Monday. The Red Cross is providing food, blankets, pillows and cots for the Career shelter.
NEW LONDON -- Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio on Saturday declared a state of emergency in effect. Emergency Operations Center has been activated. Parking ban for downtown effective at midnight Sunday. Free parking for residents at the Water St. garage. Some residents urged to voluntarily evacuate.
OLD LYME -- The Town of Old Lyme now issued a mandatory evacuation based on the latest prediction of catastrophic flooding. Please evacuate to a safe location by end of day Sunday. Remember to secure your valuables, turn off your main electrical breaker, close and secure any propane tanks and bring any valuable documents with you. An emergency shelter serving the towns of East Lyme, New London, Waterford, Old Lyme, Lyme and Montville will open in the East Lyme Middle School, located at 31 Society Rd., in Niantic, beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday.
OLD SAYBROOK -- "Emergency Evacuation Notice... If your street is on the list, Public Safety STRONGLY RECOMMENDS that you EVACUATE your home when asked." WESTBROOK -- The Westbrook Office of Emergency Management strongly recommends that all homes south of Rte. 1 and both trailer parks evacuate your homes Sunday. Residents first option is to seek shelter north of I-95 with family, at Daisy Ingraham School, located at 105 Goodspeed Drive, opening at 6 p.m. Public Transportation, (school buses), will patrol these areas between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. sandy town-by-town evacuations

greenwich -- mandatory evacuations were ordered at 1:00 p.m. For areas 1, 2, and 3 as identified on our sea, lake, and overland surges from hurricanes (slosh) map. These are generally low lying areas like mill pond in cos cob, areas near the coast of the long island sound and byram river. hartford -- hartford's emergency operations center is open and monitoring sandy.
Newington -- the town of newington is undergoing preparations in anticipation of hurricane sandy. Newington high school, located at 605 willard avenue, will be utilized as a storm shelter, if necessary. Cots, meals, showers and cell phone charging stations will be provided at the shelter. Residents are asked to bring pillows and blankets, toiletries, towels and medication in original prescription bottles and are reminded that no pets will be allowed in the shelter.
A pre-recorded information hotline will be available at 860-665-8686, beginning at 8 a.m. On sunday, october 28th, or contact the town manager's office during regular business hours at 860-665-8510 for information. In the event that the shelter does open, residents will also be informed through the reverse-911 telephone notification system.
Norwalk -- "evacuation calls are expected to begin as the forecast and timing is better confirmed, the shelter will be at brien mcmahon hs on highland ave. The shelter is pet friendly. orange -- the orange emergency operations center will open at 8 a.m. Monday, and will coordinate emergency response for police, fire and medical emergencies. The united illuminating company will be on hand to respond to downed wires. The orange highway department will respond, when safe, to downed trees blocking roadways. Residents are asked to call 911 in an emergency only! Loss of power should be reported to the ui at 1-800-722-5584. Residents are urged to shelter in-place, however the shelter at high plains community center will open at noon monday. Residents should bring toiletries, medication, and bedding. Pets are welcome. stratford -- a voluntary evacuation order is in effect. All residents and businesses along the waterfront and in low-lying areas that tend to flood are urged to evacuate. Bunnell high school will be opened as a shelter as of 2 p.m. Sunday. Transportation to the shelter from the south end community center will be provided beginning at 2 p.m. Until 8 p.m.

vernon -- vernon mayor george apel has declared a civil preparedness state of emergency for the town of vernon in anticipation of hurricane sandy. An emergency shelter will be located at the vernon center middle school, 777 hartford turnpike. The shelter will open at 5 p.m. On sunday. Bring medications, bedding, towels and personal hygiene items with you to the shelter. No meal will be served until monday morning. Pets are permitted but must be caged. A town-wide parking ban will be in effect from 7 a.m. On monday until 7 a.m. On wednesday.
Watertown -- the town of watertown is asking residents to prepare for sandy by clearing storm drains, bringing in outdoor furniture, etc. Residents urged to remain indoors during the storm. The town's emergency shelter at watertown high school will open as needed.

west haven -- mayor picard has declared a state of emergency for the city of west haven. The city will open a shelter at the carrigan school on tetlow st. Effective at 4 p.m. Sunday. Anyone seeking shelter should bring all necessary personal needs and medications for the next four days. If you have pets you may bring them to the shelter, however, you must bring food, a leash, medications and a cage or travel kennel.
