  • Fleas and ticks medicine

I spotted a flea on my wife's 6 week old yorkie earlier today.
I called a few vet hospitals, petsmart, and petco to see what they would recommend. They all said Frontline Plus and one hospital said First Shield Trio.
Has anyone ever used either one of these products on their dog(s)??

I'd like to get something for her asap.
I don't want to spend money on something that does not work.
I googled reviews, but sometimes I don't trust them.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I work at a pet store and when anyone ever has flea problems i suggest frontline. frontline plus is for fleas and ticks, plus larva and eggs. But i wouldn't use frontline or any of those drops on your dog for months at a time. They're known to cause cancer over extended periods. You could try to use flea shampoo too that shit works pretty good.

                Thanks bro. Much appreciated.
The shampoo does work, it kills fleas instantly, but the shampoo I have (Seargen't Sentry Flea and Tick Shampoo For Dogs and Puppies) says I cannot use it on dogs under 12 weeks old. My wife's pup turned 6 weeks two days ago. The vet said not to use it because she's too young and can be very harmful. Also, my neighbor's dogs aren't well taken care of, and I'm 100% sure they are infested with fleas. I know that's where my pitbull got them, and from her they jumped onto my wife's pup. So using a shampoo wouldn't work if they'll just get them again in a few days.

So tomorrow I'll just go to petsmart and get frontline plus.
They say to use it monthly, would you recommend I skip a month or 2??
Also, if there are eggs still on the carpets or upholstry, can they still get them??

He's never ate wet food, not once lol. I feed him natures recipe dry food. Seems to be the best food for the money.

You should also keep an eye on things to make sure the house doesnt become infested with fleas, I would take a white rag wet it lightly with water and lightly flag the floor with it. Flea treatments can become expensive I work for a pest control company so the best I can suggest is to vacuum daily and treat your pup with frontline.
