diy tire rack/genbox
I been on a mission the last week to get my wheels off the ground, literally. So I did some research and this is what I made.
I did my shopping at home depot.
List:
(2) 3/4x10' BLK PIPE 12.91 each
I got one cut into 5 feet with threads and the other cut into (5) 2 feet with thread. The fifth cut will just be an extra but its cheaper to do it this way instead of buying separate 2 feet.
(2) 48'' steel plain flat bar 6.48 each
(8)2''x6'' L- angle 2.53 each
(4) 3/4 BLK Tee 2.64 each
(4) 3/4x1/2 BLK BUSHing 1.87 each
1 box of LAG SCREWS of 25, 3/8x 1-1/2 7.98
The total is around $85 without the bolt and washers. So for around $100 I was able to make 2 tire rack that can hold a maximum of 8 wheels each. If you shop around for a tire rack the prices are high just to hold only four tires. It was a great turn out I enjoyed putting this together. For enthusiast who like doing stuff like this it is useful, even if you don't have a lot of wheels like I do you can make one kit for under $60 and still be able to hold 8 wheels. Stop wasting time and save space in your garage.

THERE IS 8 WHEELS IN THIS PIC, THE LAST 2 TIRES GOT CUT OUT AFTER THE ALLOYS
A SHOT OF THE TEE. THERE IS A HEX BOLT WELDED IN THERE SO THE BOLT CATCHES.
THIS BRACKET IS WELDED BECAUSE THE PIPE WAS GOING TO BE TO DIFFICULT TO DRILL A HOLE THROUGH
Aside from doing a tire rack I made a generator sound box. I figured winter is around the corner I just trying to be ready for anything. I used wooden pallets that people throw away and I put a bunch together and painted it and cut some hole for ventilation. I sound used foam insulation to quiet down the noise. I decided to cut another hole a mounted a civic radiator fan I laying around. Of course this thing is heavy but it was made at a budget and to my liking.
I really enjoyed making these small projects. The tire racks I will be trying out some different ones to make and powder-coating them and be able to hold 4 wheels
Next...might be picking up an oil tank and making it my new sand blast cabinet.
