  • Quick question about offset

Hey ctv so i'm about to pick up some Enkei 92 for my hatch, but i just have a quick question about the offsets they come in.. Can someone explain the differences between +25 & +38.. Hope you guys can help.. thanks.. don't want a camber on my wheels would rather have them sit nice & flush.. i DO NOT want to go thru tires every 5k miles.. thanks hope you guys understand what i'm asking..

    Positive

The hub mounting surface is toward the front or wheel side of the wheel. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front wheel drive cars and newer rear drive cars.

      Negative

The hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centerline. "Deep dish" wheels are typically a negative offset.

If the offset of the wheel is not correct for the car, the handling can be adversely affected. When the width of the wheel changes, the offset also changes numerically. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside. For most cars, this won't work correctly. We have test fitted thousands of different vehicles for proper fitment. Our extensive database allows our sales staff to offer you the perfect fit for your vehicle.

so +25 is closest to the brake's,and +38 is even closer so the back of the wheel is even more toward the rear of the rim (a bit off center)

^allright so i'm better off going with +38 if i want to avoid camber wear/having to buy a camber kit..?

I think i'm going to buy the enkei 92 +38 because i can throw them on without having to roll my fenders etc etc.. & if i ever want to widen them a little i could simply throw a spacer on em & roll the fenders that way.. correct?
