i would agree with most here about getting a puppy. if it all possible adopt. I was very patient 10 years ago and was able to rescue my lil homie at 8 weeks old. hes still around now and the best dog i ever had.

adopt bro. They usually come with there shots and neutered. I adopted a 7 month old pit paid 200 for her and shit has allllll her shots and spaded. Which is a plus because i am against breeding pits. there are alot of dogs that are on deathrow right now at the pound that are awesome dogs

Get a puppy and the dog will grow so attatched to ur kid, itll be rediculous.

Although a well mannered pit will end up being alright, its just not a chance you can take with a child

a puppy would be your best bet. that way, you have the option to have the dog grow with your family and not have to deal with any bad habits from the beginning. there are plenty of puppies needing to be adopted throughout CT. are there any breeds you are leaning towards? keep in mind, a dog that is bred for defense ( cane corso, mastiffs, presa canario ) shouldn't be a choice.

dobermans are great dogs, look into them, i had 3 growing up. when i was little i literally would pull their ears and bite them. the dogs NEVER once turned on me. Pits are amazing dogs, i can help you look for one. Are you looking for a male or female? Both will be protective of the little one regardless. I currently have an English Mastiff and a Yorkie Poo. The yorkie poo hears everything, a pin could drop and he will bark. My mastiff is the muscle of the house. just do some research.

Alot of people buy 2 dogs because some dogs cant be left alone without being destructive lol they get bored easily..its just nature for them to chew and bite stuff but if you get a pup they will learn eventually lol

yeah i know! lol. :) you saw how sweet my mastiff is. but the other day someone came into my back yard ( property assessor ) and she almost broke through my glass door to get at him. just do some research. i've owned many breeds of dogs. dobys are great dogs. and naturally keep watch of their property. lmk.
