YouTube Helps Troopers Track Down Street Racers

BRIDGEPORT—
State police say Joseph Rodriguez and others were illegally street racing on Route 25 in Trumbull on Jan. 27, and a YouTube video helped track him down.

As a state trooper arrived, the group scattered and Rodriguez, 22, and others drove off at a high rate of speed, police said.

Rather that count himself lucky for avoiding a ticket or arrest and lay low, Rodriguez posted video of the race on YouTube, and state police said that helped them track Rodriguez down.

State police obtained an arrest warrant charging Rodriguez with reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit and illegal racing on a highway.

Monday night, Rodriguez turned himself in to face the charges. He was later released for court May 7 in Bridgeport.

common sense tho if u wanna upload vid of a race make sure ur license plate is not visible, i mean this case it wasnt his fault but youtube is basically like a traffic camera if a cop see that shyt ticket or warrant crazy

The original videogropher put taped in zambia or some shit on there. On youtube it is listed as when street racing goes wrong and I have met the person who owns the go pro several times.

The cop got the plate number on his camera and thats how the dude got caught but they try to make it seem like its because the video was posted online.

I feel bad as hell for EKrican but shit happens man. Keep your head up and get a good lawyer.
