  • which single for boost??

I was wondering, if I wanted to build a boosted single cam civic, which single cam engine would be the better 1 to build on and why?

d16z6 over the y8 bc the y8's are known to spin bearings in stock form. also the stroke on the z6 allows it to create good torque numbers for such a small engine(similar to the h series). imo singles are only worth it under high boost. stock trim really cant go over 9lbs/240whp. you'll almost certainly throw a rod. i had a single running on 23+ lbs of boost and she moved well. pm me if ur serious about building one. i might be able to help with parts, tuner, etc

I would def say a d16z6 you can easily run 200hp no more than 250 with some good injector and a fuel regulator u should be good maybe even a fuel pump to

I understand that...but I was just curious as to which single is more preffered to build when your gonna be boosting.

Also, would the 6speed transmission from a rsx type s be able to bolt up to a single or a b18? I'm new to the honda game so please excuse me if these are dumb questions.

i can't find a z6 for shit lol. I'm gonna keep looking, but I'm gonna be doing a full build, how are the zc's? obviously any fully built motor is gonna run, but I want something that will be strong and is known for being reliable. Again, I don't mean to ask dumbass questions, but going from the subie game into the honda game is a big step especially when you know little about single cam honda motors.
