anyone ever go to jdm engine depot ad get a motor from them..... i went the other day and picked up a full swap .... and shits smoking when i started it up ,,,, i had them do a compression test and everything came back with great numbers,,,, called them and they said they store the motors with some kinda fluid in them so no seals dry out...,,,,when i first started the motor is smoked bad , now its doesnt smoke at all til i rev it up to like 4500 rpm then its a little ..... i did a full tune up ...plugs ,wires,pcv, injector cleaner..... full oil change,... the smoke that is coming out of the car is a lite blue smells like oil but not burning it checked dip stick also i know iam not on the right ecu running a p2t... 99-00 si ecu and i need to be running it on a p73 but waitng on jumper harness to run it right ..... is there a chance that its just burning all the junk out of it ..... like the fluid they put it to store it....

It could be that but idk if it keeps smoking after you keep running it I would drop It and bring it back

Huh I just picked up a motor from them too n opened it up just to double check n everything looks good just minor stuff from sitting for a while but let's see ween I throw it in... But I would say drive it for a couple days with the right ecu let it clean itself out but don't beat on it n make things worse

My cousin bought couple motor & swaps from them , never smoked & we did a compression check everytime we get a swap or motor , but it'd prolly cause it'd been sittinq maybe , just like egkid129 said , drive it'd for couple Days & see if it'd going away ,

Keep in mind engine depot gets them in crates, God knows how much the previous owner in Japan beat the piss out of it the first 40k of it's life lol...but who knows hope it's something simple

I've bought at least 10 engines from them and can say i never had an issue. I know they put a cap full of atf fluid in each cylinder which helps when the enigne sits for a while, def smokes when you first start it but then goes away...

It's gotten a lot better doesn't smoke on start up only when I rev it to 5000 rpm it it still smoke alittle iam thinking not all the fogging oil has burned out yet, iam not burning any oil on the dip stick

when i picked up my engine it smoked for about 10-15 miles and all good after that...i did the same as you full tune up and new timing belt/water pump...i have around 5k miles on my engine now and it runs fine

Yea I bought a full B16 swap from them a few years ago, it ran amazing
