So you're saying if I get a speeding ticket, I should just pay it and not fight it?

It depends cause if u got pulled over for speeding nd the cop says u were speeding nd gives u a ticket chances r he probably not goin to show up to court but if he says he clocked u goin so many mph over the limit he got a record nd probably will show up seeing how he got evidence nd which case u r screwed

What was the reason behind it? I'm just praying the cop doesn't show up in court.

I have been to driver retraining 2x nd the lady told me to "fight every ticket that is within reason" but I'm sure speeding isn't plus the cop almost always never shows up

the chances of a prosecutor dropping a speeding ticket, regardless of the officer showing up, are slim-none...so when its said and done u spent a day in court, and plead guilty to speeding, just to save a few bucks...

Acfene is correct - moving violations will result in a point on your license as told to me by a prosecutor- also if you pay the point wont be added, one thing i did learn though is that if the cop cuts you a break and give you a lower ticket then for what originally happend dont fight it, cause at court they knew from the cops notes that he lowered the fine and they gave me a fine anyways -and in all of my tickets not once did i have a cop come that gave me a ticket, only fight if its for parking or tints or exhaust minor stuff not any moving the state feeds off the speeding tickets

I had a speeding ticket + no seatbelt (which i did)= $387, and 20 minutes after getting the tickets i send it Not guilty 3 weeks later i got a letter saying "You where found NOT guilty of the charges and they got drop". I didn't had to go to court or any other place.

here is the CT point system..just some info

If you get six points on your driving record, expect a warning letter from the DMV. Get 10 or more points and your driver's license will be suspended for 30 days. Get another 10 points on your record and you'll lose your license for up to 24 months.

The DMV assesses one point for each of the following infractions:
                    • Operating at unreasonable rate of speed
                    • Speeding
                    • Failure to drive in the proper lane
                    • Illegal use of limited access highway by a bus, commercial vehicle, or vehicle with a trailer
                    • Improper operation on multiple-lane highways
                    • Improper operation on a divided highway

                    • Improper backing or starting
                    • Failure to give proper signal
                    • Operation of motorcycles abreast, illegal passing
                    • Wrong way on a one-way street
The DMV assesses two points for the following infractions:
                    • Slow speed, impeding traffic
                      • Disobeying orders of an officer

                    • Operating a vehicle through a pedestrian safety zone
The DMV assesses three points for the following infractions:
                    • Driving while impaired
                    • Failure to keep right when meeting opposing traffic
                    • Improper passing or failure to yield to a passing vehicle
                    • Passing on the right
                    • Passing in a no passing zone
                    • Failure to keep to the right on a curve, grade, or when approaching an intersection

this depends on the prosecutor..situation happened to me and i still sent in not guilty...but your right the prosecutor knew the exact speed he caught me at...but she still lowered it to a different find..and i paid 50...that ticket was down from about 400..so i got my chargers lowered and got my fined lowered..but its like playing with fire..it could of went the other way and i could of gotten in more trouble.

Ur wrong in some cases cause every time I went to court was a speeding ticket 3 in one month nd every time the cop never showed nd every time the prosecutor lowered the fine greatly more than half also if u get 4 speeding tickets in one year its suspended nd 3yrs to come off your record

I wonder how u can find out if points have been taken away from your liscence. Calling Wethersfield DMV would be my guess

Yeah, I drove without my lights on, and i guess the cop took my question as mocking or sarcasm.

So he added 'rear license plate wasn't alluminated, cracked windsheild, car freshener was a obstruction of view, and license plate not mounted'
