  • (PC Content) Helppp ASAPPPP!!!

Alright so i know there is a few people on here who are good with computers and shit. Well hopefully one of you sees this..

I go to get on my laptop today and it was off all night (as it always is) so i pressed the power button and walked away waiting for it to load (my OS is Windows 7 if you need to know that). I come back and this is popped up..

It looked identical to what that picture shows.. I was looking at it and it looked kinda fishy so i clicked the Help&Support button pictured in the top right corner of that screenshot and noticed there was no contact information, things were spelled incorrectly, etc. So i knew something was up. I opened Internet Explorer (which i had to do from the launch menu because most of my desktop icons were gone along with picture and music and pretty much any other temporary files), and googled it. Sure enough its a fucking virus, great.. So i look into it a little more and i find this write up about it and it basically tells me that its spyware..

windows recovery is a fake computer optimization tool which was designed by cyber criminals in order to steal computer users’ money. basically they attempt to sell useless software as a tool that is able to protect and remove various infections. at the beginning you will receive a bunch of security notifications and pop up ads which warn that there’s something wrong with your hard drive or report about some other registry error. practically it does everything in order to make you believe your system is badly infected and then make you purchase windows recovery to fix that. the program even runs its fake scanner which only imitates looking for infections and then claims that your computer is badly infected with tons of infections. as a solution it offers purchasing a so called full version of windows recovery which should solve all your computer problems. please delete windows recovery from your system if it happened for you to notice it on your computer. use a reputable antispyware program and remove it immediately after its detection. if you have made a payment for it, don’t hesitate to contact your credit card company and dispute the charges.

I need to know if there is a way i can fix this, or if somebody can do it for me.. Money is kinda tight right now though =/ .. If someone can help and needs any additional info i can do my best to help you obtain it from the laptop..

I am on the laptop with the said problems right now making this thread so i know there is a way to fix this i just need help im not good when it comes to this shit lol...

Best thing you can do are 2 options:

If you have anti virus software, boot the PC, press F8 before the windows logo gets on and select "boot in safe mode"

If you don't, do the same as listed above and go to "start" "programs" "system tools" and click "system restore".......restore it to last week or something.

Not neccesary, system restore can reverse that installation.....worst case scenario after he does a restore if there's still some signs of it, he'll just have to manually go through the system registry and delete anything to do with the virus.

Mind you, when you go into safe mode, the screen is going to look like shit (resolution/color), you'll have no sound.....that's NORMAL. When you go into safe mode it loads the drivers that windows NEEDs to function. Which is why it's perfect for troubleshooting.
