I just went thru this shit and got my car running today. I was out a car for a month. Bought a coupe from NY. Got it home, all was good and then the crank pulley sheared off the end of the crank due to a fucked up keyway.

Just finally got my swap in so now im out of the bullshit but i feel you 100%.

I went thru the same shit when my hatch got stolen.

if your still cool with the dude, keep his plates on the car and call your insurance company and put insurance on the car and have them MODIFY THE INSURANCE CARD TO HAVE YOUR NAME AND HIS ALSO. sounds crazy as hell but i have done it in the past. it will only work if he didn't turn in his plates already. hit me up if you have any questions. i have proof that it works.
