is it possible to register a car without the title? Like for example I'm sellin my bub to this kid in 2 weeks my bub is registered but I'm still waiting on the title is it possible to transfer the ownership to the buyer or not? Help me out

just told ya the deal lol i talk to dmv daily working at a dealer they changed the title devision around and not it is all backed up so title can take up to 8 months to come back to the owners..... as long as a title number has been issued you can do a lost title to get your copy of the title other then that the only way to sell a car is transfer of owner ship with a lost title paper.

This.....it sucks CT is so damn slow now. I received some titles in a month, and recently in 4-6 months. CT took so long in 2010 that my finance company on the gsxr was calling me up and threatening me that if I didn't register the bike in their name because they hadn't received the title etc they were coming to repo the bike and I was like "I swear I did, call the state at XXX number."

I went down today in Danbury to ask when they are backed up to until because I need to sell my car. Guy said that he registered his own car in September, and still hasn't received his yet. I registered my gsr in December. Kind of screwed explaining this Bullshit to buyers now.

Transfer Ownship willl work, just y'all both have to be at dmv, and you have to go threw a process, and you need a bill of sale too....... but you can do a transfer ownership though..

Go on DMV.com and type in Transfer Ownership and it can explain it much more

Yes u can sale it without a title all u need to do is go to the DMV and get transfer of ownership and get it notarize or go with the person u selling it to and he can sign the paper right there in the DMV

Obtain an Application for Duplicate Certificate of Title and Ownership Transfer in Absence of Title (form H-6B). This is a multi purpose form and can be used to assign ownership to the buyer in lieu of waiting for the actual duplicate title. The application must be notarized .

^^^ yea just dont go with duplicate cause you dont want another title sent to your address, you just want a Transfer Ownership, && trust me i done this with some other guy, i bought the car without the title, we both went to DMV, he had the bill of sale notorized already, so all we had to do was show the bill of sale, && then i reg the car at the DMV, but i advice you go early in the morning, so it wont take a min...

Like you just bought a car with no title and they said you gotta wait or you claimed your title was lost but you just haven't received it yet?

I'd imagine that you have to wait a few months after registering for the title number to be in their system...when did you register the car last?
