Check engine light on and emission soon

So I have a car thats OB2 and I have to do emissions soon and my check engine light on , and I dont want 2 spend a thousand dollars to get it off especially only for a few months aopm wit places where I could go to pass my emissions even wit the check engine light on

u cant on obd2, u cant have a cel or its fail no matter who you know. wats the code did you scan it?

I did and its either thr 02 senors or the converter

if you reset it and then go to emissions right away you'll pass. at least i did. had a cel on because of o2 sensor in cat and reset it and went straight to emissions and passed.

yes i remebered a saab at work needed to get emission's on they needed to drive it for x amount of miles due to the system not being ready.

I got the same problem on the subi...got it without a cel after reg it i got the emissions letter and next day cel!! I started it today no cel but after a 15min drive it came back on. Might be 02 or cat

just replace the o2 its not that bad.

Yeah even if you erase the light you will have to complete a drive cycle, trust me guys i have Aplus and DMV always doing updates on my computers there is really no way around it until you get it fixed.

only domestic cars have the p1000 issue, im my case i have a 98 civic with a gsr ecu I went to emission with 2 o2 sensors and no cat and pass with flying colors
