Spark plug tube seals STUCK!

wana paint my v/c but the spark plug tube seals are stuck in and I cant get them out. I got picks and i heated the whole thing up over a kerosene heater but they arent budging, just chipping little by little but the bulk of it is still stuck in. any good ideas to get these mofos out?

You use a large flat head screwdriver and jam it between the base of the seal and recessed area on the bottom of the VC, and just pry it.. You're not the only one with this issue, Joel actually couldn't figure it out either.

To install the new ones, use the old seals you just pryed out and place it over the top of the new one and tap them with a hammer almost in a criss cross pattern so it will go in evenly.

thanks, ill try it but i was trying screwdrivers as well, obviously haha. but ill see if that method works after i get outa work

large flat head or small prybar. I've done enough, they don't come out easy.

You must put it between the seal and vc coverbbevuase in that seal is like metal and bends easy

you need to use the screwdrive trick go from behind and wack it and it will come i have alot of extra sohc valvecovers i can sell ya so you can paint any color you want
