i need to jailbreak a friends ipod touch with 4.2.1 firmware..whats out there to jailbreak the ipod untethered??

not sure if u are being a smart ass but ofcourse i did use google and yes sites come up but i need a ACTUAL site that wont be spam or a waste of time..

So far i have downloaded redsnow and 4.2.1 firmware..i have installed cydia on the ipod..seems that i have to always run tethered in order to open cydia,is that just how it will work?
