well we're not too sure what we're gonna do, fix the one I have or replace it cause the head gasket went. Just leaving our options open.

well i think you sould fix the one you have!

i work on them all day long i do prolly one head gasket job on a caddy every week my boss is a caddy freak lol

if you buy that motor and put it in you dont know how long it will last befor the gaskets go and then you are out a good amount of money.

if you have the head gaskets done right they will last at the least 100k or more.

i dont recomend you haveing a back yardshop do the job there are alot of tools needed that a caddy tech will have that a back yard one wont.

idk if you know about them but you need to take the motor out of the car to do the job and you need to drill each and evry headbolt hold out and install new "Time certs" in each hole and if you dont have the right drill set up to do that you will ruin the block!!!!

idk if you shoped around for shops to do the job but my shop will do the BEST job for the money and be the cheepest shop to do it for you.

we just did one last week ruffly around 3 to 4k to do that job the dealer will hit you 6 to 8k to do it.

and we have done over 200 of them and give a life time warenty on the headgasket job.
wile the motor is out we replace alot of gaskets and seals
new valvecover gaskets
new intake gaskets
new timeing cover gasket
new headgaskets
new water pump
new water pump cross over gaskets
new exhaust gaskets
all new time certs drilled and installed
new head bolts
new spark plugs
new throtle body gasket
new air filter
oil change
new coolent
and a alot more i cant rember
it is about 500 to 700 in parts from dealer only no autozone junk
23hours of labor at 75$ a hour
and shop supplies.

I hear you, but you are quoting me what the dealer did for a new motor..

I hear you on the time certs, that's the KEY element to properly fixed the headbolt separation issue.

we just charged some one 4k but we did a new altnator and battery and other misc thing that you rolly do not need
