Need a mechanic / someone who really knows Hondas

I'm about to pick up another EK I found on CraigsList from some kid in CT. It's a completely stock 1999 Civic w/ 120k miles on the original engine. What are some things I should look for on the engine / overall car to make sure the car is in fact a legit deal and not a piece of shit.

Or are any of you available tomorrow around noon in the New Haven area that could look at the car with me (be a really big help).
