So, wanted to get input from peeps here cuz ya'll know the laws better than I do:
Currently my daily is a DX with registration and plates from FL. Moved here in August. I know I do not have to register/get new license etc... for a year. After a year, and if i decide to stay in MA, i have to get new license/plates etc... that's my understanding so far.
Now, I may be purchasing a new VX from a private seller here in MA as my rusty winter beater. As long as my insurance covers that car as my only daily (thus using the same plates I currently have would be transfered from the DX to the VX), do I need to do anything with Mass RMv's?
I mean, I think I don't and I'll still be fine until august of next year. right?
My thoughts are: for the RMV/DMV, i am still using a FL-immatriculated car (FL plates) and the car is insured.
Since the car is still out of state, minus the change in power/mods/color, for Mass, it doesn't matter if the car is a VX or a DX... RIGHT?
I aint' trying to scheme or anything, just trying to be legal and not pay tons of money to gvt-related services unless I absolutely have to...
But don't want to get myself in trouble because of ignorance either!
thoughts?
