  • k-series Question

as far as the actual price of a K which i heard ranging from $1000.-$2400.
how much trouble and cost does it cost setting it up

lets say we have the motor.

whats the next step? motor mounts?

also once the mounts and engine are in how much harness work is there?

next shift linkage.. i seen pic of people cutting floor?

im asking cuz im thinking about going K

and selling my B to help fund my K swap..

hopefully i can come across a complete swap?

now i guess i could end this by asking what would be best!!

stayin B and building it or swap a K ?

can a B-SERIES be just as good as a K-SERIES?

or is it just a trend and look not just power????

k series has wayyy more potential then b series but also cost a lot more. If you got the funds then go K.

Yea you ain't lyin selling the B I gotta go all the way hard!!!

So you say about 4-5 grand!!

Hmmm so I figure I'll spend about that much maybe a lol less buildin the B with head work supertech valves, springs, retainer, guides, cam gears, cams that ruffly is about
1,500. 2,000. Not including someone doing the dirty work!!

Then block pistons rods rings!! oil pump, clutch..Labor work about 1,800.

That's just gettin the B right!!
Now the K you say 4-5G is that just stock parts or the goodies??
Also were do I find the gear box?

It's about 4-5k after you have the motor and tranny but it
might be cheaper depening where you buy your part. You can
buy alot of parts from k20a.org for cheap. That 4-5k also includes
bolts ons but you will be satisfied for sure with the power of the k.

hmmm so there are people out there that got K swaps but there probally hot and I was a legit one so how much for the engine?? And I heard there are issues with the stock tranny? Is that true and if so what tranny is a good one??

Of I can get the engine and peice together all the parts from K20.com I might think of going K fully..

                      It's still a high budget but I beleave it's worth it !!

Nothing about the mounts?? Are we still drilling and cutting the old mounts out??

Most motor swaps from the junkyard go for $2600 but you can always
get them cheaper if you look. The six speed trannys are weak but are worth
the trouble, if you don't race the car you should be good. You have to cut the passenger tranny mount off eg's and ef's other than that it's straight foward. Check k20a.org it's your best friend.

yea I got a EG and it seems like I need to become a k20a member!! Lol
6 speeds are weak in what way you mean there gear ratio? Or they are prone to break???
I guess going K isn't that much of a hassel!! I think I can pull it off..
Because for a hot second I was thinking about going. Boost on a GSR which I hear isn't top choose it's the LS.. But I would work with what I can get!!

Also is it still newer O8 SI trannies still the top choice like on the B series??

How much are B-series swaps going for these days??

And virgin p28 I have a extra one thati can sell just need a startin price

The six speed trannys are known for breaking gears like second but if your not
drag racing the car every day you should be good.
