unsure about a couple things

I had the same car since like forever so I'm not sure how things work I'm thinking about buyin a shell but the guy doesn't have the title he has the previous registration and bill of sale now I wanna kno if I scoop up this shell how do I get the title how long does the title search n how long n how mucis it gonna end up costin me I check the vin on the registration paper and it came bak clean not stolen so I hope everythin wuld go smooth u guys think?

na if the last registration is under his name he can just go to motorvehicle and pay 25buck they just print it out if it not under his name he cant do it..........my advise is i dont take no car if there aint an official title to it at the sale or trade
