whats goin on ctvtec.. i just bought a civic with a nyc salvage title but its salvaged because of theft .. after i put the car back together what documents and ************ do i need for it to go through inspection?? and is there anything that i should do ahead of time so i dont have to make 2 trips up there...

One, RECIPTS FOR ALL PARTS!!! If they find one corner light without papers, then they'll fail you.
Second, you need to have had the work done by a bodyshop and have documents to prove it.
Third, make sure that everything lines up to the teeth. You don't want to give them any excuse to fail you.
Finally, you MUST tow the car to the inspection site, via a flatbed, not a dolly.
Anything else that I missed will probably get posted by someone else.

you can do the work yourself, you dont need a bodyshop or any shop to do it.
and reciepts are the most important thing, not only will they fail you, they take the parts you dont have reciepts for.
its a bit of a pain in the ass, but if you get a good car out of it, its worth it. the first time is a learning experience.
