Who's gotten an exhaust ticket? Need help!

So I got pulled over this morning (in my sentra) because my header is broken. They gave me a written warning and I need to do an inspection in 20 days or my registration will be canceled. Who knows what they look at when they do the inspections? Is it just check the decibel level or make sure it is oem parts and not bandaid fixed? I have a header and exhaust but it is all aftermarket.

All they did when i went was rev it up checked how loud it was by ear an sent me on my way

They had to have written it on the ticket in order for that to be in effect. I was told that 2 years ago. They gave me a warnin and said that to me and i never went and the registration is still good even tho the car is in pieces in my driveway.

They will give you a warning and they will say if we pull u over again u will need to pass inspection.

yea i got an exaust warning a while ago they said i had to get it inspected or my regi would be cancelled i never went and drove the car for about another year before i sold it lol

Damn. I need to check the ticket and see what it says. As long as it's not a visual check I'll be set. I have a 4-2-1 header and 2" exhaust to put on and the muffler is chambered so it won't be too loud.

i've gotten pulled over and had to go to inspection. i threw the stock exhaust on with coat hangers and went. they put a mirror under the car looking for a cat, etc. and asked if i knew my exhaust was on with coat hangers. i said it was the system i got pulled over for, and they laughed and sent me on my way.

I checked my ticket and they checked the "broken equipment" box that says I have to do an inspection in 20 days or my shit gets canceled. So I am thinking I need to fix it and get it inspected...but do I have to put on/fix stock stuff or can I put the better goods on and go like that? It has a cat and chambered muffler so I don't know but don't feel like wasting my time fixing the stock stuff if I don't have to.

ok bro im in the same process i went friday an he told me to rev it ...(he meaning the inspector at the wethersfield dmv) he then went an grab a lil machine wit a mic then told me to floor it an my car was 90.1 an the limit is 70 so i gotta go again ...he told me is like 60 days they give u

i got hit once and went to get it inspected and all they did was the mic thing and told me to floor it but i only brought it up to 4k and passed and was on my way

dont even sweat it. i had 20% tints on my old car and i got a written warning one of those pink tickets and on the back it gave me a date to have it inspected by or my regi is canceled and i never did it drove it for a year, even gotten pulled over like 6 months later and regi was never cancled

So then it's just a scare tactic to get me to fix my shit? I guess the state also wants me to kick them some money to do the vehicle/exhaust inspection.

Ive been pulled over atleast 6 times for my muffler. Ive gotten written warnings and Tickets. I never had to go to no inspection. They have someting on the back that u can get signed off by a mechanic u have like 20 days or so to do it then u jsut mail to to dmv. I just bring it and get it signed off everytime.
