because he'd dealt with them for many years in the past and never had a problem? they were the closest shop to him, and at one time had a good reputation? live and learn.

Dude, whatever ANYONE wants to say, the guy who owns it car was IMMACULATE and every car that left there was in the same PERFECT condition. I mean, I still remembering him straightening the fender bolts out when he was bored just so it'd look better. They were legit one of the BEST IN THE COUNTRY. PERIOD. Hate 'em or love 'em. I brought 8 and 9 sec cars from OHIO to there to be tuned. That's love and ************ing shop support right there. I just don't know how it all went wrong.

Anyway, this is a repost from CCDSM to those of you not over there. I'm not typing it again.

I NEVER planned on ever using it again. I was just going to let it sit in storage all pretty. But when my 100% stock car spun a rod bearing, the drama begun.

Original quote was for $2200 for a salvage unit to come with motor and turbo. Car was dropped off to them Feb 12th, $1100 (half) left cash that day. Was told 2 weeks!

Their 1st attempt. - Used motor - *COMPLETELY* blown. Burnt pistons, bent valves in the head, ring lands GONE. Needless to say, didn't work too well when they started it. Turns out they bought one off of a local guy, so instead of being lightly used with an attached t25, it's totally blown and I have to bring them a 16G as well. Whatever, shit happens right?

Their 2nd attempt - Rebuild USED motor - Blown motor still has good bearings? Rebuild it! Somehow, they decided to take out the balance shafts. Whatever. I'm pretty neutral. Hell, I actually kinda like them in on 7 bolts, but whatever. This would come back to haunt them when the long bolt the oil filter screws onto wasn't tighten/torqued/locktghted and FALLS OFF OF THE CAR, taking the oil filter with it. No oil pressure, kill the ignition, walk home 2 miles through backroads in north Stamford at 2 am and have the car towed BACK to them.

Ran for 21 days, has taken TWO MONTHS so far.

Their 3rd attempt - They say that rubber 'O' gasket is blown, and say that's why the oil filter and water/oil cooler FELL OFF of the car (really? i mean, REALLY?) Replace the bolt WITH LOCKTITE (funny how that helps) and i make it oh, about 8 hours before it starts ticking under boost. Another tow.

Their 4rd attempt - They try to blame me for their FRESHLY REBUILT MOTOR falling apart. (stock intake, stock clutch, stock fuel pump, stock shitty 2g BOV, stockstockstock....) Whatever, I *NEED* my car. They want to slap rod bearings because I killed the ignition QUICK and it still looks good. ANOTHER $550 bucks, and it runs about 120 miles. ANOTHER tow.

Then they just threw up their hands and gabve me a big '************ you very much' and refused to stand behind *ANY* of their work. I had NO CHOICE to get my car running but to get MY OWN motor out of storage to get it running.

Now, there WERE some things that I knew I'd need going to a 6 bolt from a 7 (Flywheel, Crank Pickup) and I was NEVER EVER using that stock oil/water cooler again so there are a few LEGITAMATE charges, I'll pount that out now.. but it was well less than $1000 of stuff, maybe less than $500. So how did we go from $2200 and YOU supply the motor and turbo to $5600 all said and done using *MY* motor and *MY* turbo.

Oh, and remember that Feb 12th drop off date? I picked it up the 2nd week in SEPTEMBER. That's SEVEN MONTHS to drop in a MOTOR. Even if you want to go from the time they were handed a complete and sealed 6 bolt stroker motor, that was still JULY 7th.

When I get it back, It won't start, (Coolant temp sensor wire wasn't in clean) won't idle (coolant temp sensor and leaky downpipe gasket let air to 02) loses spark on the highway (ignitor pack) squeels like a stuck pi for, no lie, 45 seconds when i start it (alternator pulley bent from attempt 1). My A/C pully and belt are sitting in my backseat, my $196 a tire (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....um=245WR7RE070) is COMPLETELY shot on the right rear from being driven around town with 0 air pressure, and when I simply *HAVE* to check my timing belt, i touch the 4 bolts holding on the crank pully on and I see one of those weird 14mm grade 3 power steering bracket bolts that have the phillips head in them, and watch it BREAK off into my crank pulley. THAT was a *************** to extract, then last night, THIS shit!

************ dude, the fitting is LEAKING. Why would you try to pass some shit like that off on an $9000 MOTOR.

************ing incompetent. I hate being 'that guy' but I almost have to sue them at this point, don't I?

I mean, what other choice do I have?

I'm having my paperwork set, giving them ONE chance and attempt to make this right, if I don't like what I hear, then I file it and we get to dance. I'm sick of turning the other cheek BS.
