No cash deposit thank god. And for time frame they told me if they spend a whole day on it they can pretty much get it almost done, but they keep giving me the runaround they said two mondays ago they were going to work on it all day and they didnt, they said all saturday they were gonna work on it but the workers called out, and then they said they were going to work on it all wendsday so i went to check it out this morning nothing has changed but the doors have surface rust on it know because they left it outside in the rain for like two days.

i hate to tell you if that cars not an insurance job its the last on the list. the shop will get lots of little jobs and shit that need to be done in one day, bumpers, etc etc etc. insurace companies require repairs to be done in certain amounts of time or they will not pay for car rentals, etc. insurance work always gets done faster, and out-of-pocket take longer, especially shit like rust removal and repair. i dont know where you took the car but you never want to rush someone doing rust repair, the one step they can skip to save time will cause your rust to come back. if you want, take the car somewhere else, but its probaly not gonna be any better. and i have to disagree with p-crider, never leave any money before the jobs done, people work harder when they are working to get paid, not when they got paid already.

i work at a shop and i 100% agree with you man. insurance co. want the jobs in and out and if the shop doesnt do it then we stop getting insurance work and right now thats whats keeping body shops in buisness because people dont want to pay out of pocket.

Exactly and it's way harder to tell any customer with a bumper or any small 1 panel or 2 panel job that they can't do it because they're busy on a full resto one other thing I learned working at a shop is that my boss never turned down cars even when we had 20 cars outside and 17 inside he would take more work and make people stay and work later to get them done. In this economy a lot of people are taking insurance money and paying their bills instead of get the car fixed

I guarantee there are other big jobs that have been sitting around for just as long but like I said you are the easiest to push back because your work is custom it's not bolt on parts Nd paint your rust has to be cut out and a new patch is probaly going to have to be hand made welded in and properly prepped and sealed so the rust doesn't come back. It's not as easy a thing as people like to believe.
