Aight, so i picked up the donor car white gt...
Got it for $100 with the intention of swapping the motor into my green GT, and calling it a day.
But upon further inspection of the white one..... its actually in better shape than the green one.
The white one has bent rear suspension parts from an accident and a dent behind the drivers door, and another on the right rear.
Even tho it looks great, the major issues with the green one are::
The rocker panels are completely gone from the doors back, (the 91 sideskirts mask this very well)
I have bad rust in the rear strut towers
I have 2 holes in the floorboard, both about the size of a pack of cigarettes
So if i stay with the white one I'd have to swap::
Trans
Flywheel/clutch
AWR mounts
Rear subframe (instead of even bothering with the spindle bolts that NEVER want to come off)
Strut/spring combos
Turbo setup
Exhaust (the white one has a nice Magnaflow muffler tho so ill keep that)
GT front bumper (the white one has an LX bumper GT looks alot better)
3pc wing
Sideskirts
Headlights/corners
Protege center console
Cluster (I like the bold font on the 91 cluster better)
Recaro seat
Headunit/speakers
Front suspension pieces as needed (white one has some noise)
Axles (just cuz the green ones are new)
Valve cover
Then later on down the line, fix the dents and repaint it white
maybe a couple other lil things...but all in the benefit of a rust free shell...
so what do u guys think
