well i know with using synthetic oil your supposed to change your oil every 5000 miles instead of 3000. also you cant keep switching like using synthetic this time then next time use regular if you use synthetic keep using it... also i believe synthetic has engine management ingredients to clean out sludge and keep your motor running clean

First of all, it's "Synthetic" and running 10W30 is a bit heavy on the cold side for D16. Use the 5W30 Castrol Syntec next time you change it out. 10W30 won't hurt your motor but if you're burning oil, stick with it.
And there is no problem switching back and forth from regular oil to synthetic oil and vice versa, I've done it to my car and don't have any problems. When people say it can cause problems, it doesn't...it's a myth.
And synthetic oil is less prone to break down from high temperature so they last longer between oil changes...no need to change it every 3000 miles like regular oil.2000 FBP EM1

I use Shell Rotella T 5W40 full synthetic with a Honda S2000 oil filter. Reason I use the 40 weight is cause it helps with the oil burning I have.
But prior, I used regular 5W30 all year around. Most people say it's fine to use 10W30 in the summer since it's not so cold out for start up but doesn't matter to use 5W30 either...I mean less strain on your oil pump since the 5 weight is thinner than the 10 during start up.
Just remember the first number is for cold temperature thickness and the second is for the thickness when the oil is warm.
I mean it really doesn't matter, if your car doesn't burn oil at all...I'd just stick with 5W30 year round.2000 FBP EM1
