GSR Build??

Im getting a gsr for cheap as a project to build. Im planning to do valves, springs retainers, intake mani, throttle body, ect....fully build head. For the bottom end of the gsr questions me on how to produce the most power. Ive read that putting a gsr head on an ls or b20 bottom is good for turbo because of the low compression. Ive also heard that you can mix like type r pistions with ls rods or a combination of different B-series bottom end parts to create more bottom end power. How do gsr's take boost and whats the best parts to build the bottom end of the gsr for boost if i wanted to go that way.
Basically, Im starting with a gsr motor because im getting it for almost nothing :) and have probablly 2 to 2.5 grand to put into the motor including tranny, axles, ecu ect. Any comments would b appreciated.

get eagle rods,full floating low compression pistons if going turbo,new bearings(main rod and trust washers) but wait until the motor is taken apart to see whats needed,arp rod bolts,block guard,micropolish your crank,may want a bigger bore on the pistons so that they sit perfect,may want to upgrade the oil pump to a performance 1,get new seals(rear & main)oil pan gasket,you may also want to get new head studs(arp,aebs,etc)get the block honed,balanced..
