Compression?

SO im in shop at skool & im lookin up parts for my motor. i tell my teacher im buyin vitara pistons for low compression becuz im goin turbo & he asks me "Why do u need low compression for goin turbo?" & i never really thought why. I was just always told low compression is better for turbo & high compression is better for all motor. After i researched it i found i wanna go lower compression for turbo so id be able to safely run 91 - 94 pump gas. but u can run high compression turbo with like 116 gas.

Any imput on the topic? Am i right? lol OPINIONS WELCOME!!!!

well if u want big power u better think bout some sleeves... u dont gotta go super high compression.. mayb anywhere from 10 to 11 compression wuld be str8... the lower the compression the higher the boost... higher compression lower the boost...

got a buddy goin for 17.5 psi wit like 10.5:1 comp. over 400 whp

Personally I don't like vitara setups, if u google em there always makin bs power cuz the motors are 2 low of compression,ppl don't do enough homework n realize the vitara pistons require longer rods, on stock length rods compression is actually in the 8's with a nice sized turbo u gotta boost the shit out of it for power n In return you still get boost lag wich is a no no if u plan on wining races lol... Start with a turbo, find 1 u think will be good for ur power goals then find out the flow rates in the turbo "meaning how much compression u actually need to boost it properly then u should know wich direction to build the block"...
