  • to stay in the honda game or not?

    so i want to get out of the honda game. but seeing my eg sitting in the garage all the time just saddens me, some may remember plans for doing a basic all motor ls vtec a high build all motor ls vtec and even a boosted ls vtec, but the more i think about it ls vtec is just to dangerous, only reason i wanted to do it cause i had a ls block that needed work and a fine b16 head already. after the boosted ls vtec idea i got the idea of getting out of the honda game, but been on here recently and its getting me back into wanting to build my eg (may be trading what i have and everything i ahve for a running stock 95dx coupe) so if its mine or a new one i think i may want to build it up again. i definitly want to go boost. so my question whats the not best but most reliable motor to boost with (i know people may say you cant call a motor reliable to boost unless it came boosted to begin with) but if i do this build it will be a built motor, that is built out of the car and have time to work on. im open to b series, h series, and maybe even dabble into teh idea of a j series turbo.........idk about that one. really dont want a d series turbo, and dont want to spend out the ass for a k series. so let me get some opinoins on motors that would be best to build for a good boost set up in the like 400hp range +or- some

    i would say a good inexspensive motor that you could with alotta time and money get to 400 hp with is a good turbo ls build. but then again 400 hp with a front wheel drive honda with street tires might be a little bit of a waste of money cuz your hardly gonna be getting traction, if your were gonna run slicks on it and take it too the strip thats another story, but for just street tires and dickin around i would stay at 300, still gonna be quickkkkk

      yeah idk what exactly it is gunna be. so lets just say inbetween that 300-400 range. it wouldnt be a daily driver once that motor is built and droped in.

      for an ls my idea would be like a 84-85mm bore, sleeved?, low compression forged pistons and rods (idc if its not needed, if i am gunna build something im going to take pretty much every step to make it last) and basicly build up the head. (my main concern is the bottom end) i would probly do a t3/t4 turbo, that shouldnt have a problem getting me to that range right? also obviously a proper tune, upgraded/new fuel pump, 800cc injectors should carry me to that range right?, intake mani, throttle body, and some sort of exhuast,

        if i leave the honda game i want rwd (obviously) been thinking mk3 supra's, sc300's, 240's both s13 and s14's. and im stuck driving a saab and yota corrolla till i save up enough for one of those.

        but if i stay in the honda game that power should be able to hold me over enough, till i can save up and start an 04 sti project.
        VTEC is just way to much fun

            i wouldnt roll with a stock block, just cause if im going to build it, it aint going to be stock.

                  still think i may just want to do a ls turbo, just cause its already a lower compression, and if I boost im going to do it above and beyond, cause idc if every sits there and says o it will hold, im still going to throw in lower compression pistons, and forged rods and pistons, and mostlikely boring it out to 84-85mm. cause i like to be able to not have to take my motor apart. that way i know my motor is solid, and if i want more power down the road, i know the motor can handle it and i can just upgrade little things around the motor. and it is DEFINITLY GETTING tuned if i a do build a motor, and it most likely would be a s300

                    so my boy may buy my civic come the end of summer unless someone else jumps on it................then i think i might just buy a b20, and build the shit out of it over time for boost, then find a midori green ek hatch to put it in.. :) have the motor ready to go into a car, before i even have the car haha

                        lmao i know i am. my mind jumps all over the place. its all going to depend on when i get the money for the shit what exactly i want to do. but i do think the b20 build would be nice. and i have always loved teh midori green ek hatches. and personally i want nothing to do with my eg anymore. sick and fucking tired of seeing it in the garage at my house every time i go there. i want it GONE!

                            its a 95 eg black ex, has a b16 in it with a lsd tranny, but you can not mount two of the three boolts on the half shaft so i call the block beat (internals fine motor is fine just calling it beat cause you cant properly mount the halfshaft and idk if it is fixable, or worth fixing) has that, will need tires, will need exhuast. body not horrible, minor rust minor i mean. also has a full ls motor that had a spun bearing that is completly taken apart it was a rod bearing that spun, and there is no visible damage to teh cylinder walls. but the ls motor is completly taken apart and i would like a g for it all at the least, that is you towing it away. if you want pics i can give you pics.
