10w30 or 5w30??

  • 10w30 or 5w30??

    its always been bugging me... which 1 is better to use??? i dnt understand and havent taken tha time or money to expirment wit it... do they relle make a difference or??

    i always used 10w40 its a lil thicker n better in my opinion

      They def. make a difference...
      10w30 is wayy thicker than 5w30.

      Personally, I use 10w30 for high mileage and its does just fine...
      But if its pre-100k, or a crate motor (( ordered )) I'd go full synthetic 5w30 (( mobil 1 or something ))

      The motor will run sluggish if it takes 10w30 in its early miles.
      Someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.

            x2 ^^^ full synthetic isnt good for these old motors in my opinion, ful synthetic should only be used in the up to date newer cars, stay conventional, save yourself the headache. BUMP

              never heard of that. I have ran 5w 30 in my 3 motors and never had a prob. But def. good info bro

                5w-30 all day the thicker the oil the more friction on the engine
                theres no replacment for boost:)

                    i run 5w30 with lucas oil stabilizer every oil change, the inside of the motor looks brand new.

                          about that lucas oil thing how much of that do u put in tha motor n how many quarts of oil if its a fresh oil change cuz i dont wanna over fill tha motor with oil

                            And 5w30 is good for all year around...

                            I just highly recommend you DON'T use it on high mileage.
