  • 96 spec b18c or 98 spec?

    im doing a jdm b18c type r swap on my ej8.

    which swap would be better? 96-97 spec? or 98+ spec?

    would it be worth spending the extra cash for the 98+ spec?

    i knw the difference between the two is that 98+ spec final drive is different, better 4-1 header nd larger ctr intake cam. (i was told)

    also the tranny i heard the 98 spec uses 1st-3rd b16 nd 4th nd 5th gsr? correct me if im wrong.

      jdm itr and ctr cams are the same not sure about tranny g/l

                  jdm itr 98+ 4.7 FD.
                  jdm itr 96-97 are 4.4 FD
                  usdm itr 97,98,00,01 came with 4.4 FD
                  jdm itr 98+ came with 4-1 tubular header
                  jdm 96-97 came with cast header
                  usdm 97-98-00-01 came with cast header

                    for what your going to pay for a legit swap from online you could build a nasy all motor set up. just so you know.

                      x2 could do itr pistons in a gsr block with a itr head and have bascally same thing lol then have cash to build the head or do whatever u want with it

                            if u are worried about price do a step better. get a ctr instead. Way better. youll have 75 people say no its not and 25 say it is.... sadly its better. Cams are different i dont know were u heard they are the same, false. Pistons are rediculous. its an awsome piece of motor! Hmotorsonline.com ive had customers order from them over 10 times never once had problems hell ive had my own ordered from there.

                              nah i aint worried about the price at all. i got the money, i jus wanted to knw if the 98 spec motor is worth it
