Anything can be done. But I highly reccomend not putting a pro stage 3 cam ona stock valve train. Otherwise you just wasted all that money on your buuild. Also i'd do higher comp pistons then stock b16's. Your cams are a over kill for that setup.Money ain't a thing! Crew Member #1

that being said b16 pistons on ls rods in an ls block with a gsr head and no machine work gives a compression ratio of about 11.6 to 1 assuming 81mm bore, if he , had the block oversized .5mm, hed be at 11.8 around....and again this is assuming that he has not had the block or head shaved at all. pretty high already if you ask me, and i know for sure that exact setup (with upgraded valvetrain) will support buddyclub spec 4 cams with a nice powerband...if the block or head have been milled that compression ratio goes up more
oh, and if youre goin to run that setup with big cams, please make sure whoever assembles it clays for piston to valve clearance, and determine how far you can adjust your cams safely so you dont damage anything when the car is tuned
oh and interestingly enough, most people dont realize that a US b16a piston actually has a higher dome displacement than a jdm or us ITR piston, next largest is the jdm b16a and then b16bLast edited by roe; 03-03-2010, 07:11 AM.
