they supposedly hold around 300hp.. you could fit ls rods in a D16 if you waned to, and make up to 400
100 Pennies make a Dollar, The same applies for HP

^^^^No. D16 rods are good for up to 200hp. If you look at a d16 rod compared to b series theyre alot weaker. Heres a pic for comparison http://www.theoldone.com/articles/xm...6_n_B16A_2.jpg Yes ls rods work with some work needed but youd need arp bolts for anything near 300+hp. Rods arent expensive just get some eagles.

I dont beleive so. What kind of numbers are you shooting for? What are you doing for pistons? Maybe look into a vitara piston custom rod setup from fj distributors, relatively cheap and vitaras have been proven to hold 400+

i was going for 300. i was looking into keith black pistons...they have a higher silicon content so it doesnt expand as much and they repel the heat...i was loking at vitera pistons but i see them on ebay so idk if those are a cheap way out but im not lookin for cheap. just middle of the road ya kno?

I hear ya on not wanting cheap but vitaras are cheap and proven to hold well over 300hp. The only problem is with regular H-beams they sit a little in the block lowering compression. Custom FJ I-Beam rods from FJDistributors fix that problem. http://fjdistributors.com/product_in...roducts_id=285
Does require some notching on d16s for those rods.

As for notching the block for H beams, did some research and the answer is yes. But personally I think you should really consider that fj I beam/vitara combo. Save some money and use it elsewhere on the build. Vitaras are proven to hold just as much hp as stock sleeves on a D. http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread...ghlight=vitara
