i have a 00 ls block with a 96 gsr head also a gsr tranny.. i want to put cams and pistons but dont know what kind to buy and will be spraying about 50-75 shot.. thanx for the help.

Use some PR3 Pistons with SKunk 2 Stage 2's, or Pro 1's. I would normally say to run P30 pistons but, if you plan on spraying, it would shorten the life of the 12-to-1 compression
motor. Just my opinion.13203

it all really depends on your budget. je makes a really good piston but you may want to save money and go with say a srp piston. again budget is big here but you can put a price on a well built motor. so build to your needs and expectations. even if your just changing pistons its recomended to change out the bearings. stock bearings in a ls bottom are well known to spin at high rpm. keep in mind ls motor are not made to see a 8,000 rpm redline. a good set of acl bearing would help you out there and run you around $100. as far as cams go it depends on lift and duration. some camshafts recomend/require you to upgrade the valves, springs, and retainers. skunk2 and crower make some cams that require any upgrades so you may want to look into those.Last edited by manchester motorsports; 09-02-2008, 09:27 AM.Manchester Honda since 1964

its being built by me and im taking my time so it wont blow on me to fast im going with skunk2 pros Stage 2's cams valves, springs, and retainers.and im going to do the bottom end up 2. but only going to bring it to about 7500rpms. what pistons should i run the car will be all motor.

I'm going to have and agree with both horny_for_hondaZeg888 and H23VTECLUDE. It all depends on whats is you're goals? How much Money? Budget? I'm doing the same thing Ls vtec but i have a b18b block with b16 head and trust me just do as much researching as possible. Deff go with Eagle H beam rods with the ls Crank If not i found a really good deal on ebay for Eagle H beam rods with Eagle Knifed edge Crank for ls for 599.99 which is not a bad price. Je makes awesome pistons and good power. Myself im heading with RS Machine Pistons with compression 11:6:1 but you can put all you want on the motor but at the end it all comes down to TUNING you have a good tune youre pretty much all set.Dc <3'rViva Portugal
