Why not build it right the first time? Take pride in ur work and have the confidence that your motor is built to hold your power, not constantly worrying about when (not if) its going to blow up. Half of CT has hacked up boosted stock blocks, and how many of them last?

To answer your question about 400hp setup. Some are saying just headstuds/rod bolts n ur good. Personally 300 is the max id go on a good healthy stock motor with a great tuner.
            Heres what id go with:
Forged pistons 9.5:1 or 10:1. Srp for a little cheaper. Personally I like cp and JE.
Forged H beam eagles. Can get em for under 300 with arp rod bolts.
            Arp head studs
            Good tuner.
i showed that as an extreme example... motherfucker are wasting TONS of money into 170hp motors.. best rods, best pistons, the best cams their boys told him to buy and then the motor need viagra to do something. they think that a rod makes power, that ARP rod bolts make power, that block guards make power i could go for day naming useless shit people be doing. I know B18 are not 2jz, but they are not that flimsy.

did you read the old threat and figure how long they are lasting?? some of them ran full seasons. niggas pussys be getting wet when they hop in a turbo 260hp car and swear is the fastest shit they ever been on.. that is nothing for a stock motor.

I'm looking for the link of a stock b16 with arp rod bolts and S2 pro2s strap to 35R doing 456hp at 17psi ran for more than 3 years of straight up beating tuned by some mofos in ohio on highway. i'll post it as soon as i find it.

I'm not saying build a 600hp bone stock everything.. i'm just saying 300hp is nothing.
and about the pride deal.. dude is a honda.. i wouldn't be proud of owning that shit.. they are toys just like my old YFZ450 or my old kawi zx6r.. toys, blow them toss em on the garbage bring the next one.

Once again your naming rare cases with excellent tuners. IMO at the very least id want arp bolts all around and a fresh rebuild. A b16 is a common motor and its also common to be beat on by people. So you go pick up a b16 thats been beat and go for 400hp and tell me what happens. Its added security by building a motor. Better safe thsan sorry.
As for the pride thing. I understand its a honda, but some people have alot of money and time into their builds and would rather see them last than blow up and toss them in the garbage. Not lookin to argue though. Lets agree to disagree because I see where your coming from if your low on cash and/or dont care if it blows or not. He stated daily driver though.

Personally I wouldnt even bother boosting a car to make 400hp when I can build my h2b all motor (or K) for not much more and be just as fast with a better powerband for the street. Still no traction though. I'd go gsr over b16 boosted any day of the week though.
