  • acl bearings clearance and issues

will be putting my engine together next weekend. The problem that i have is with the tolerance for the acl bearings on the crank. my bearings are .015 thickness... now the factory bearing are color code for a reason, different thickness or material???? have no idea the why???? my block is a golden eagle, with the original main caps, and have not been line hone

getting the engine together is not the problem... the problem is with the bearing as wise as the thickness and clearance. this are aftermarket bearings and i have only used factory bearings before on the crank. thats where this issue is begining for me... will put it together and plastigage it. an see where i end up, if any thing will sended the block to the machine shop for a line hone.

that sux,,i had a similar problem and had to get a crank so that i could use the bearings that i purchased..my recomendation to any 1 building a motor is to not buy parts until the motor is opened up ..so u can see whats really needed..g/l
