New car, doesnt start..

just bought a ej2 (dx coupe)for cheap.
its auto and i bought it for a daily so i can finish work on my ej8 super-car(lol).

anywho, supposedly it has a blown head gasket as the previous owner explained to me. i really didn't car what was wrong with it because the price i payed it wouldn't be a loss, at all.

so heres the scoop.
i get it to my house, and i have it on a charger. knocked the started to have it crank over. cranks, no start.
-checked the spark plugs, they are covered heavily in carbon.
-made sure the wires were connected correctly to the dizzy.
-couldn't see if there was anything inside pistons from the spark plug because its dark outside, going to check tomorrow.
-looks like it needs oil as its dark as hell.

anyways, other than making sure its getting spark and fuel. i can't remember what else to make sure it needs to run im completely blank. there is no CEL.
i know this is like kinda hard to explain the situation, but i don't know what to do beside take off the head and check the gasket & head, and see if there is anything inside pistons.

You can tell by the sound if it has compression. Turn on the key and listen for the main relay/fuel pump to cycle. that will give you an idea if someone had removed the light from the dash. Make sure that it has the grounds connected properly. The one on the valvecover, tranny and thermostat housing.

Thanks, ill remember to check that tomorrow also. The check engine light is intact still, it lit up randomly with all the other lights when i first plugged the car on the charger. It automatically went off though.

that's how it works. whenever you turn on the key, it will light up for about three seconds and turn off as long as there are no trouble codes.

make sure your dizzy is sending spark to the plug ive seen tons of hondas with this problem

he said James threw it out somewheres..

anyways, i charged the battery last night after posting and it was on all night.
starts alot stronger than with a dead battery and a jump.

the car ALMOST starts.. its like its putt-ing.
i could smell gas, it definatly HAS compression, one of the sparkplug rubbers broke off becuase it was corroded, fell off inside cyl 3 spark plug hole.. so i cant even get that plug out.. !!

use a hanger. hook the end of it to pull it out.
