  • exhaust setup ?

As of right now I am running without a cat in my y7 with a 2.5 inch exhaust...will be fixing this soon, but I want to know if I should go with the vertical cat (dx, lx) or the horizontal cat (ex)

I have to buy the cat and secondary o2 sensor either way, so obviously I want to choose which one brings higher performance.

Bolt ons for a y7= waste of time and money. Save up and swap it

You guys missed the point here...my registration and inspection are out of date, and this is my daily driver so I have to make it legal. I'm not looking to race, just figured if I'm making the change I might as well make it a good one. In the future I am without a doubt leaving D series behind, but for now I need to get to work. So back to the original question...

Fuck these guys. I had a y7 with a y8 intake manifold. Y8 header and cat. With a full exhaust and a z6 tranny. Shit was a problem for these sohc V niggas out here. No CEL.

Good shit, glad to hear it worked well on yours. I dropped an ex tranny in mine recently, made things much more fun. Again, not trying to race but since I'm making changes they're gonna be upgrades

IMO, "upgrading" would still be a waste of time and money if you plan to swap down the road, you might be able to keep the cat back but the manifold and cat would most likely have to be replaced if going to a B series due to the different configuration (length and placement). if your saying you have to do something to the exhaust for emission purposes only..then why not take the cheaper route? get an oem exhaust off a smashed civic or something and call it a day. then just plan on your future swap and think about if your gonna go N/A or boost, or what your HP range your aiming for because these 2.5" exhaust on a 150hp motor (or less) is just worthless.
