CRX question?!?!

just recently bought me an 88 crx si. note, this is my first honda and first standard. getting familiar with everything, but one thing im struggling with! im having trouble getting my car moving smoothly from first gear. is it just my crx or does all of them have a very firm gas pedal.

i know to get about 1-3k rpm before releasing the clutch, but the moment i move the pedal a centimeter, the shit is climbing up to 3k and up! am i just still a heavy footer at the moment or is this something that most of you are dealing with?

ive been trying the technique where i quickly rev it over and over as i am releasing the clutch until it catches. this technique also would help on hills and reversing.

im pretty new to standard n now i have no choice but to get used to it but i was hoping i can get some tips. let me know if you want to see any pics of it. its the one on my profile avatar

just practice driving the thing....had the same problem when I was learining how to drive standard at 13 lol now I don't even look at the cluster anymore when starting goin up hill or what not
