d16z6 timing

i dont know much bout timing i know how to time it but im trying to figure out if my car is off timing i took the sprk plug out of the 1st cylinder and put the drip stik in and turned the motor over till the piston is tdc but my cam gear the up part of it is faceing down now does that mean its off timing or its just fine ...?

Keep turning till it says up...and the piston should still be tdc.
