You cant use a obd1 engine harness in a obd2 car. You use the engine harness that goes with the car and the jumper lets you run a obd1 ecu with a obd2 engine harness. Also you need to use a 96-00 driverside/post mount and wire the distributor or buy a jumper

ok but the hatch is non vtec so i dont wanna hack a non vtec harness, thats why i have a vtec harness. that still wont wrk?

You will need to get a 99-00 ex harness the obd1 harness wont plug into you car

If you're going to do this I recommend going through emmisions first if you haven't already because a scanner can't read it when they plug it in if you swap it to OBD1. Also just like adam00 said, you can't use an OBD1 harness you'll need the 99-00 EX harness. Then you can wire the VTEC into the harness by either getting a couple new pins and pinning it into the right spots or cutting the pins off of the z6 harness you have and doing it. I can wire the VTEC correctly if you need me to bro, I've done it to a couple differen't cars including CTB16_LSD's DX hatch when I put his y8 in there.

Also when you use the OBD2 harness you're going to have to swap over the alternator, injectors, and use an OBD2 VTEC distributor so it will be plug and play.

ughhh, to much to handle, may consider just buying a y7 swap so i can plug and play

With a 99-00 ex harness it already has the vtec ran and i dont think a obd2 dizzy will bolt to a z6 head or if it does the timing will be off

Actually if the VTEC wire and oil pressure switch wire is in the 99-00 engine harness it should just be plug and play with a VTEC step down harness.

Personal experience, i say dont do it, its not worth it, its a headache, i tried to do it once, i sent it to my boy to do the wiring on it, and the hatch still ran like shit.

Just save yourself the money and headache. And save up for a bseries.
